text about visas:
ACCESSING CERTAIN ZONES OF THE EXHIBITION REQUIRES THE PRESENTATION OF A
VISA
Visiting my intimate exhibitions or the intimate parts of my exhibitions
(the inside of my imperméables, my room, my suitcases,) requires the
request and granting of a visa.
The visa request form puts the applicant to the test, questioning his or
her degree of knowledge of the Oeuvre, honesty, intentions and motivations.
If the visa request is accepted, the ART POLICE officer stamps the applicant’s
passport.
A well filled-out questionnaire (showing a good knowledge of the Oeuvre)
allows access to a large number of exhibition zones.
In this way, the intimate territory of the artist is protected from
voyeur-consumers, thieves of sentiments. The visa acts as a filter and
allows a distinction to be established between the mediatique and the private
and to allow access to exhibitions of varying intensity, according
to the degree of complicity and comprehension of the viewer, who, in return,
becomes a participant in the Oeuvre.
The visa allows the artist to separate entertainment zones form those where
there is a real mise à nu.
Visiting the exhibition is not a right but rather something that must be
earned.
